Three Angels' Messages

First Angel

Revelation 14:6, 7 – Description of the first angel’s message

  • Last message of mercy and warning to the world

  • This everlasting gospel will go to all the world – Matt. 24:14

1.  Fear God – to obey, and keep His commandments

  • Deuteronomy 10:12, 13

  • Ecclesiastes 12:13,14

2.  Give Glory to Him

  • 1 Cor. 10:31 – Whatever we do is to be done to God’s glory

  • Matt. 5:16 – Others will see God’s glory in our lives

3.   Hour of His Judgment is Come

  • We are living in the time of the “Cleansing of the Sanctuary” – Daniel 8:14

  • Hebrews 4:14 and Hebrews 9:24

4. Worship Him

  • This is a direct reference to Exodus 20:8-11

  • The issue of Sabbath observance will be faithfully proclaimed in the last days

 

Second Angel

Revelation 14:8 – Description of the second angel’s message

1.  What is modern Babylon?

  • This is the same as the antichrist system.

  • Revelation 17:1-5 describes modern or spiritual Babylon

Woman – great whore – false church

Sitting on a beast – Union of church and state (beast)

Arrayed in purple and scarlet color – Colors of the papacy

Mother of Harlots – Has led others away from the true love – Christ

  • Defiles the sacred just as Belshaazzar had done

Genuine

God the Father

God  the Son

God the Holy Spirit

 

Counterfeit

Dragon, Satan - spiritualism

Beast - papacy or Catholicism

False prophet or apostate

2.  God calls “my people” out of spiritual Babylon today – Revelation 18:4

Third Angel

1.   Rev. 14:9, 10 – The warning about the Mark of the Beast.

2.   Dan. 3:1, 3, 4 – Neuchadnezzar builds a statue and summons the whole kingdom to accept the counterfeit worship.

3.   Dan. 3:14 – The central issue for God’s faithful followers was true and false worship.

4.   Rev. 13:13-17  A counterfeit image will be established again, a false standard of truth will be exalted.  The central issue will be obedience to God and True versus false worship.  An economic boycott, then a death decree will be passed.

5.   Rev. 7:3 – In contrast to those who receive the mark of the beast are the saints who receive the seal of God in their forehead.

6.   Eph. 1:13 – When we hear the truth and believe it, we are then sealed.

  • Jesus is truth – John 14:6

  • The Word is truth – John 17:17

  • The Law is truth – Ps. 119:142

When we believe all three and follow, we are sealed.

7.   What are the components in a seal? 

      Person’s name, authority or title, and the territory ruled. (i.e. Presidential seal)

8.   Which commandment has God’s seal?

      Ex. 20:8-11

  • Name – Lord thy God

  • Authority – Maker or Creator (vs. 11), see also Isa. 40:28

  • Territory – heaven and earth (vs. 11)

9.  Ezek. 20:12 – The  Sabbath is a sign between God and His people.Before Jesus comes, there will be only two distinct sides

God’s side:                            

  • Will keep the commandments of God – Rev. 22:14

  • Will have the faith of Jesus – Rev. 14:12

  • Will be sealed by the Holy Spirit writing God’s law in their heart – Heb. 10:15,16, Rev. 7:2, 3

The Beast’s side:

  • Will follow the commandments of men Matt. 15:8-9, Mark 7:7-13

  • Will worship the Beast – Rev. 14:9, 10

  • Will be deceived and damned because they did not love the truth – 2 Thess. 2:10-12

  • Will receive the Mark of the Beast – Rev. 13:16, 17

10.  Rev. 18:2-4 – God calls His people out of Babylon.

11.  Rev. 15:2,3 – God will help us to be victors over the Beast so that one day we can be in heaven with Him.
