The Second Coming of Jesus

Question: Will Jesus Christ come to this earth again?Answer: Hebrews 9:28 "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."Just as surely as Christ died on the cross of Calvary, He will appear the second time.Question: When will Jesus Return?Answer: The gospel is clear that no man know the day or hour of His coming, but we can be sure that He will; and soon.Matthew 24:36 – “But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.”When Jesus was here 2000 yrs ago, He promised He would return to this earth at the last day, or at the end of time, to reward every man according to his works. (Matthew 16:27; 26:64).Question: What kind of body did Jesus have after His resurrection?Answer: Luke 24:36-43, 50, 51(36-43) “And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.  And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he showed them [his] hands and [his] feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?  And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.  And he took [it], and did eat before them.”(50-51)  “And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.  And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.”Notice: Jesus has a body like you and I would have. He also ate with His disciples. He also went back to heaven with that real body.Question:  Will His coming be “Figurative” or “Spiritual” or “Literal”?Answer: Acts 1:9-11“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;  Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”He will come in like manner as He went back to heaven at His ascension. He went back to heaven, literally, bodily, personally, and visibly. So when He comes in “..like manner..” at the 2nd advent, we know that He will come from heaven literally, bodily, personally, and visibly. The 2nd Coming of Christ will be literal, personal; and in sight of all the people; not something figurative or spiritual.Question: Who will see Him when He returns?Answer: Rev. 1:7“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”Every person; every eye will see him when He appears in the clouds of heaven. Christ not appear secretly just to the elect, but all tribes of the earth shall see Him coming on the clouds with power and great glory. Matthew 24:30 – “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. “His coming will be open & visible to all people as the lightning. Matthew 24:27 –“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. “The wicked will see Him as He approaches the earth at His coming and will try to hide. Rev. 6:15-17 – “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;  And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:  For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”Question: Will anyone accompany Jesus on His return to this earth?Answer:   Matthew 25:31 – “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:”All the angels of heaven, countless millions of bright shining angels will surround the Son of God as He comes down from heaven.  (See Rev. 5:11; Heb. 12:22)Matthew 24:30, 31 – “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”The angels are coming with Christ to gather all the redeemed of all ages to be forever with Him. (See John 14:3; 17:24)Question: Will Christ physically come and place His feet upon this earth at the 2nd Coming?Answer: 2 Thess. 4:16, 17 – “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”Christ will not walk on this earth at the 2nd Coming. He will appear in the air above the earth in the sight of all people… and the saints will be caught up from the earth to meet the Lord in the air, and go back with Him to the New Jerusalem. Christ will not come secretly, but with a mighty shout that will be heard all over the earth.  That shout will cause the resurrection of millions of the righteous from their graves to immortality. At the same time, those righteous who are still alive at His coming will be changed in a moment from mortality to immortality. (1 Cor. 15:50-53).Question: What kind of body will the righteous possess at the resurrection of the saints?Answer: Philippians 3:20-21 –“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:  Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”At the second coming, the righteous will have their bodies changed and made like Christ’s glorious body. Then and only then will the righteous possess immortality, and will never die.
